Contributions of financial resources, services and talents made to the College, in addition to those received from traditional sources, enhance the College’s ability to respond to the needs of SPSCC students and the community. Such contributions enhance programs and services that would otherwise not be possible. The naming of structures and programs may recognize such contributions. This policy is intended as a guide and allows for naming flexibility.
It is the policy of South Puget Sound Community College to honor gifts through the naming of College structures, programs and funds, in recognition of persons or entities that have made consequential contributions to the College through financial gifts, distinguished service and shared talents. Naming decisions are determined by the Board of Trustees and made on a case-by-case basis in alignment with the College's strategic priorities.
The Board of Trustees and the College President reserve the right to consider any and all factors regarding the privilege of name association with any program, fund, or physical aspect of South Puget Sound Community College. The final authority rests with the Board of Trustees to name structures and programs in honor of persons or entities that made contributions to the College.
