Underage Admissions Procedure

Purpose
To provide underage students who do not have access to, or choose to opt out of, available Dual Credit programs the opportunity to have a college-level academic experience in a particular subject area or take advanced courses not available through high school. Being an underage student is meant to enrich the student’s academic learning, not replace their secondary school experience.
Applies to:

Students are considered eligible for under age admissions if all three points are true:

  1. They will be younger than age 18 during the quarter they would like to take classes;
  2. They are not in the Running Start Program; and
  3. They have not earned their GED® or High School Diploma.

To enroll, students must be at least age 14 at the time they will begin courses and schedule an admissions meeting with the Director of K12 Partnerships & Recruitment.  Detailed enrollment steps and considerations for successful under age student learning can be found on the Under Age 18 Admissions webpage.
