Students wishing to return in the quarter immediately following the academic dismissal must meet with the Director of Advising, Career and Transfer Center or Dean of Enrollment Services to discuss course selection and success strategies for future quarters. Students who decide to not attend the quarter immediately after being academically dismissed but plan on returning to the college must meet with an Educational Planner in the Advising Center.
Running Start Students must sit out a quarter (not counting Summer) before enrolling again at SPSCC. They must meet with their high school counselor before making an appointment with an Educational Planner in the Advising Center.
A student seeking to appeal an academic dismissal must complete the academic appeal steps. The steps include:
- Meeting with an Educational Planner to set up a plan for their return. This plan may include no more than 10 credits per quarter for at least two consecutive quarters.
- The student will fill out the academic standards form with their educational planner which outlines the classes a student will take for the following two quarters.
- The student will submit the form to the Enrollment Services office which will complete the student’s registration.
