A. Safety education, orientation, and training
Administrators and supervisors are responsible for ensuring that employees are aware of applicable safety policies and procedures and have appropriate safety training.
B. Reporting accidents
All accidents, injuries, and safety concerns are to be promptly reported to the immediate supervisor and to the security office. An accident reporting form may need to be completed.
Report all emergencies to the security office or call 911.
C. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Supervisors are responsible for making sure employees have, use, and are trained regarding any necessary PPE. Employees are responsible for making sure they use and properly care for their PPE.
D. Hazardous Communication -- Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
The college has MSDS information for all known hazardous chemicals in the workplace. This information is located on the college website.
E. Fire extinguishers
Fire extinguishers are available campus-wide to put out small fires. Employees should know the locations of fire extinguishers in their work area. Report all fires immediately to the security office or 911.
F. First aid kits and Automated External Defibrillators (AED)
First aid kits and AEDs are located in all college buildings. Employees should learn the location of the kits and devices near their work areas. Security personnel are all trained in first aid.
