Purpose

The College believes that students, faculty, staff, visitors and contractors to the campus must be able to learn and work in a safe environment.  South Puget Sound Community College is committed to creating and maintaining an environment that is free from threatening and violent behavior.

South Puget Sound Community College prohibits the open carry, exhibit, and display of weapons, including guns, explosives, knives, or any other weapon capable of producing bodily harm, in a manner and at a time and place that demonstrates intent to intimidate, threaten, or cause alarm for the safety of other persons on campus. This regulation shall not apply to law enforcement personnel required by their office to carry such weapons or devices.  Concealed carry of weapons is only allowed in accordance with the laws of the state of Washington.
