Trustees' Classified Staff Development Award

Policy

The College Foundation makes grants available to permanent classified employees to aid in their professional development activities. The purpose of these competitive grants is to support professional development and enhance the capabilities, skills and knowledge of classified staff. Individuals or teams may apply through the Human Resources office in the spring of each year. Each year in May, the HR Office sends an announcement to all eligible staff which includes the application requirements and due date for requests.

Grants may be awarded to: (1) carry out a project that will help an employee do his or her job better; (2) attend a conference or workshop related to work, and/or; (3) provide education for further professional growth. Determinations are made by a selection committee, which may include members of the classified steering committee, classified training committee, college administrators, faculty and Foundation board members. Awards are typically presented at the spring All Campus Celebration.
