Human Subjects Procedure

The complete procedure guidelines can be found on the IRB Document attached. In summary, the investigator shall present to the Institutional Review Board (IRB), comprised of a group of college faculty and administrators consisting of no less than five individuals, a description of his or her research project’s goals, objectives, and procedures, along with documentation addressing each of the following requirements: disclosure, understanding, voluntariness, competence, and consent. Some research with human subjects is exempt from the requirements of the procedure. When specific exemptions are found a Certificate of Exemption is issued by the IRB.
