Purpose
Professional and technical advisory committees help to ensure curriculum relevance and quality related to the business or industry being served by program graduates. Advisory committee members can identify and help secure appropriate program equipment and provide opportunities for student to participate in cooperative work experiences that link directly to jobs.

Each professional-technical program has an advisory committee comprised of highly knowledgeable representatives from the career field who are appointed by the college president. The professional-technical professors within a program work closely with their supervising administrator and the appropriate advisory committee members to maintain program rigor and relevance. A list of advisory committees, their membership and chairpersons, as well as agendas, minutes and records from each committee are available in the office of the dean of applied technology.
